The Garrulous Bombast Friday "Take Ten"

Well, kids, three days without nicotine, so I'm over the hump, or at least back on the right track, or whatever. It's meant being shut it my room nonstop and gaining ten pounds in junk food weight, but hey...not like that couldn't have happened anyway. ;) How's about we look forward to the weekend with another ten-minute break?

I really think this one is worthwhile, so let's warm up a bit. If I say "theme music to Tetris," does a tune automatically jump into your head? If it doesn't, then you may want to refresh your memory real quick. All done?

The main attraction today is a song by the UK group Pig With The Face Of A Boy. The official song title, the one on the album, is "A Complete History of the Soviet Union, Through the Eyes of a Humble Worker." The title of the video, though, which makes everything make more sense, is "Complete History of the Soviet Union, Arranged to the Melody of Tetris." Friends, this is a glorious achievement not to be missed. I'll warn you ahead of time that this song is super catchy. (Though really you don't need that warning if you played endless Tetris on Game Boy back in the day. Or if you love "Korobeiniki.") Beyond that, though, it's got heart. Plus the video has surprisingly high production value. ;)'s all good. Check it out!

(Got a couple minutes left over? This whole experience reminded me of this oldie-but-goodie People's Mario.)
