I'm back from my first day of work, and I'm beat. I'm working at a company that recycles electronics. More specifically, I work with the department that deals mostly with refurbishing computers for resale. More specifically even than that, though, I'm basically just working as a warehouse grunt. It's not...exactly minimum wage, but let's say I'm in spittin' distance of minimum wage. I have my reasons, more or less, and I'll get into that in a later post, probably this weekend, but suffice it to say that this is not the kind of work day I'm used to, aside from the fact that I'm not used to any kind of work day at all. I'm wiped out and sore, and I think that I will spend much of the evening not doing much of anything, and I further think that I will sleep like a rock tonight. Which is good, because I have to get moving butt early for this gig on a daily basis now.
Anyway. Aside from the usual back-to-work shock, I had a more or less successful first day, in that no one (including myself) died or was grievously injured, and I did not cause any collapses or set anything on fire, so...basically I'm calling any day a win where this doesn't happen.
I did the math, and all told I blow upwards of 12 hours a day on this endeavor, so I have precious little leisure time any more. By "blow" I guess I mean "remain off the grid," but the upshot in any case is that there may not be a whole lot of me around any more, except on the weekends. I just figured first day was noteworthy enough that I get a word in, so...there ya go. Anywayz...gonna try and avoid online backlog as best I can. Peace out, everybody. Smell ya later!
