So, on occasion, the player at the poker table who has the button will stand it up on its edge while the cards are being dealt. Various dealers react to this in different ways, but most try to hit the button when dealing that player's cards to that player. Actually, you don't try to hit the button itself, as you risk a card flipping over, but you at least try to slide a card into the bottom of the button. Usually the button falls over when the card hits it. It's a goal of sorts to lodge the card under the button without actually tipping it over. Tonight at work, I did exactly that; the first time in my dealer career that that's happened! Very exciting.
